I did not realize that WordPress had killed the daily post/community pool thing for their annual blogging challenge.
This year I had initially set up to participate in it, with at least a blog post a week. Obviously, I failed. But I was looking forward to trying again in 2019.
I have never been certain about what I wanted to do with this blog. But I think the safest best for me is to write about what makes me happy, or amuses me at the moment, and stop trying to turn it into a thing.
It certainly would take the pressure off of feeling bad when I don’t complete a blog topic.
I like the idea of the daily post and I enjoyed scrolling through the community pool to see what other small bloggers were writing and leaving them friendly comments as a bit of an encouragement on their little journeys.
By chance I had started following a few blogs, but I think I will follow a few more as I really enjoy the reader portion of the WordPress App.
I think a fun course of action would be to go through the old Daily Post prompts and respond to them all. I think they have over 6000 topics, they have created over the years.
I had even recommend the Daily Post to a friend the other day who wanted to blog for 100 days straight to get back into writing.
What a cool resource WordPress had created. I wonder if anyone will replace it.
So here is to 2019. When I will blog more.
That will make me happy.
