Tonight was the first ever Pokemon Go Tournament. The tournament was run by my boss, he does a Pokemon Go raid bus that he uses to raise money for charity.
He has raised thousands for Mystery Dog Rescue, the rescue I help run. I am not super into PVP in games, but it can be a fun mode for some. I decided to participate to see how it would go.
I didn’t win. Not by a long shot. I think I got 12th place. I have no idea how to power up the perfect Pokemon. I have no interest in figuring out which meta characteristics make the best matchups.
I did have a ton of fun tho. There was a raffle and I actually won a prize. When I got home last night, I set down and assembled my prize.
It’s cute. I love it. I am excited to see how more of these Pokemon tournaments go.
Attendance wasn’t the best. I think the system was originally setup to sell 32 tickets, but we ended up with 18-20 people there. I think the holidays impacted peoples ability to attend. There are just so many places for people to be. I know this weekend I need to be at 2 different Christmas parties, I also need to spend time with family, and I have three shifts at GameStop job right before Christmas.
I have kind of suspended the whole workout thing for the holidays as I just have too much to do. I am trying to set myself up for success in 2019. I may also suspend blogging for a bit to make certain I can get everything done.
The other day I gave my notice at work. I am attending Open Cloud Academy in 2019 to improve my career.
It is terrifying. I am terrified. And excited.
I can not wait for it to begin.
